Discovering a career in health services management
Lindsey Knies began her college journey in nursing but discovered her passion for healthcare operations after learning about health services management. Graduating in 2024 from IU’s Fairbanks School of Public Health, she found her calling in senior living during a long-term care course. Now an Administrator in Training (AIT) with BHI Senior Living, she is gaining hands-on experience in facility management. Earning her CNA license deepened her understanding of direct care, reinforcing her commitment to leadership in healthcare. Lindsey’s story highlights the value of adaptability, lifelong learning, and exploring non-clinical careers in healthcare.
